Your 1st choice if you’re serious about professional nannying as a career and great if you want to be a fully qualified early childhood teacher later on
Our specially designed full-year programme of learning prepares you for great jobs as a professional nanny/home based early childhood educator in NZ, Australia, London etc as well as for work in an early childhood centre, and further university level study if you wish.
Our programme includes hands-on experience with babies, toddlers and older children on placements with three different families, and in an early childhood centre/school. You get lots of opportunities to put your learning into fun practice, and employers love our graduates because they already have so much practical experience.
The Ashton Warner programme of learning is unique because it is designed especially for professional nannies and home based educators and contains lots of extra content about infant care. It’s your first choice if you’re serious about professional nannying as a career.
You don’t need to have achieved University Entrance to join this programme, but when you graduate with your Diploma you’ll gain credit for the whole first year of an early childhood degree through NZ Tertiary College, and can expect substantial credit towards the first year of an early childhood degree at AUT University if you decide to study more later. You need to be aged 20+ to start your degree unless you have already have UE.
Ashton Warner Nanny Academy Programmes towards the NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care Levels 3 & 4
Exciting practical programmes that qualify you to start work and give credit towards NCEA Level 2 & Level 3
The Academy offers a half-year practical programme towards the NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care Level 3 in the first part of the year and its planned this will be followed in the second half of the year with a programme to let you upgrade your qualification to Level 4 if you choose to.
Great if you’re returning to study after a break or don’t yet feel confident enough to take on more academic study.
You won’t need NCEA Level 2 to get in, Students work in small groups which means you’ll get lots of extra support from tutors if you need it.
The level 3 programme starts 30 January The level 4 programme starts 4 June 2018
